Don Cherry
Cherry's Jubilee

Cherry's Jubilee: Singin' And Swingin' Through Life celebrates Don Cherry's 50th anniversary of the release of his signature tune Band Of Gold (1956) and includes selections never before released on CD. The CD is a special compilation of some of Cherry's personal favorites he recorded and performed through his almost 60 years as a recording artist.
This 24-track disc was inspired by the recent publication of his autobiography, Cherry's Jubilee: Singin' And Swingin' Through Life With Dino and Frank, Arnie and Jack (Triumph Books) (See Don Cherry Book)
The album opens with a personal message from the Man himself and includes such early hits as Vanity (1952), My Future Just Passed (1956), Thinking Of You (1957), and of course, Band Of Gold (recorded Oct. 17,1955). Also included are numerous well-recorded selections from his Monument Records years in the 1960s; recent collaborations with pally Willie Nelson; and tribute songs to friend, Perry Como.
While Cherry made a name for himself as a hit maker in the pop music scene during a period in American where tastes in music were shifting, he also feels right at home presenting authentic Country musical offerings with his easy-going, golden baritone voice.
The Man is timeless, as this CD will testify.
Cherry's Jubilee: Singin' And Swingin' Through Life is a fantastic compilation of Cherry's musical output that represents over a half century of his diversity as a recording artist. It's a great addition for any serious Don Cherry collector and a "must-have" that compliments his recently published story.
